7 de mar. de 2024 · Christopher Corvinus or Christopher Hunyadi (8 August 1499 in Bihać - 17 March, 1505) Prince of Hungary and the last male member of the Hungarian Royal House of Hunyadi. His father was John Corvinus, an illegitimate son of King Matthias I. His mother was Beatrice de Frangepan, the member of famous Hungarian noble family.
He asked Beatrice and John Corvinus with signals to make peace, but he failed to reconcile them on his deathbed, as he had failed during his life. After Matthias’s death on 6 April, both Beatrice and John participated in the power struggle, but neither succeeded. John Corvinus could not acquire the throne, nor did Beatrice remain the ruler.
Corvin Castle, also known as Castelul Corvinilor, is a magnificent 17th century Gothic-Renaissance castle in Hunedoara, widely considered the most impressive castle in Romania. Also known as Hunyadi Castle, the castle was commissioned by John Hunyadi in the 15th century and was later restored and expanded by his son, Matthias Corvinus.
