George Grenville. George Grenville (14 de octubre de 1712 - 13 de noviembre de 1770). fue un político británico del partido Whig (antiguo Partido Liberal del Reino Unido) que ejerció como primer ministro de Gran Bretaña entre 1763 y 1765. George Grenville, best known as the driving political force behind the Stamp Act, was born October 14, 1712, the son of Richard Grenville, a Buckinghamshire member of Parliament, and Hester Temple. His elder brother was Richard, Earl Temple. He was educated at Eton; Christ College, Oxford; and the Inner Temple.
George Grenville was King George III's First Minister from 1763 to 1765. The central issue of Grenville's administration was to deal with the aftermath of the Seven Year's War, particularly with the sharply increased national debt and the cost of continued protection of the American colonies.
