John Clayton Mayer[ 5] ( Bridgeport, Connecticut, 16 de outubro de 1977) é um cantor e compositor, guitarrista e produtor musical norte-americano. [ 6] Mayer frequentou a Berklee College of Music em Boston, mas abandonou o curso e mudou-se para Atlanta em 1997 com seu amigo Clay Cook.
John Mayer is a guitar collector and has collaborated with elite guitar companies to design his own instruments. He owns over 200 guitars. In 2003, Martin Guitars gave Mayer his own signature model acoustic guitar called the OM-28 John Mayer. The guitar was limited to a run of only 404, an Atlanta area code.
