Engelbert, 2009. Engelbert, auch Engelbert Humperdinck, MBE (* 2. Mai 1936 als Arnold George Dorsey in Madras, Indien) ist ein britischer Popsänger.Er wurde 1967 mit dem Song Release Me bekannt.
Humperdinck was born at Siegburg in the Rhine Province in 1854. After receiving piano lessons, he produced his first composition at the age of seven. His first attempts at works for the stage were two singspiele written when he was 13. His parents disapproved of his plans for a career in music and encouraged him to study architecture.

Engelbert Humperdinck (/ ˈ ɛ ŋ. ə l. b ɛ ʁ t ˈ h ʊ m. p ɐ. d ɪ ŋ k / [1]), né le 1 er septembre 1854 à Siegburg (province de Rhénanie) et mort le 27 septembre 1921 à Neustrelitz (Mecklembourg-Poméranie-Occidentale), est un compositeur allemand, connu surtout pour son opéra Hänsel und Gretel .
A pravi Engelbert Humperdinck je, ustvari bio njemački operni skladatelj iz 19. stoljeća. Zanimljivo je da je nedugo nakon lansiranja u sam vrh svjetske pop scene ove dvojice slavnih pjevača, Gordon Mills, opet poigravši se imenima, lansirao još jednog pjevača, koji doduše nije dostigao slavu Humperdincka i Toma Jonesa, ali je bio prilično popularan u 70-im godinama prošlog stoljeća.
