Not surprisingly, Jeannie scotches the plan by falling in love with Bill for real. Based on a play by William Hurlbut, Ladies Must Love was the first American film for legendary German director Ewald Andre DuPont.
There had been a few attempts with this script, a George M. Cohan play, and this time it's Wayne Morris to play the hick in the big city. A very minor comedy, but it provides a few laughs along the way. Not big laughs, but Morris' ways fit the simple scheme. Review by joelnox ★★½. Harmless hard to find Warners B with second string leads.
