Synopsis. Near the end of the United States' involvement in the Vietnam War, an American military squad receives orders to secure a village against North Vietnamese forces. Pvt. Luc Deveraux (Jean-Claude Van Damme) comes to find the members of his squad and various villagers dead with their ears missing.
The future has a bad attitude. An American soldier who had been killed during the Vietnam War is revived 25 years later by the military as a semi-android, UniSols, a high-tech soldier of the future. After the failure of the initiative to erase all the soldier’s memories, he begins to experience flashbacks that are forcing him to recall his past.
5 de nov. de 2021 · Was man Universal Soldier allerdings durchaus grundsätzlich ankreiden konnte, ist, dass er ein ziemlich konservativ gedrehter/inszenierter Streifen ist. Schaut man ihn sich heute ohne Hintergrundwissen über die Produktion an, könnte man ihn eher Mitte der 80er verorten. 1992/’93 war das Actionkino (nicht nur durch T2 ) erzählerisch und optisch eigentlich schon weiter.
Universal Soldier is a series of military science fiction action films. The franchise began in 1992 with Universal Soldier and as of 2012 comprises six entries. The films centered on the character of Luc Deveraux (played first by Jean-Claude Van Damme and then by Matt Battaglia) until Universal Soldier: Day of Reckoning, which focuses on a new protagonist named John (played by Scott Adkins).
