Biography. Alison J. Nathan is a circuit judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Before that, Nathan served for 10 years as a U.S. District Court Judge for the Southern District of New York. While on the District Court, Nathan chaired the SDNY Security Committee and served on the SDNY Grievance Committee.

The Senate confirmed Nathan, 49 to 47, to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit on a mostly party line vote in the Democratic-controlled chamber.
