Last year, TerraPower was excited to announce Kemmerer, Wyoming as the location for our first Natrium TM plant, a technology that we developed with GE Hitachi. This 345 MWe sodium fast reactor also features an energy storage system that can boost output to 500 MWe during peak demand.
TerraPower’s Molten Chloride Fast Reactor (MCFR) project expands the ability of nuclear reactor technology to decarbonize the economy in sectors including and beyond electricity. The MCFR technology operates at higher temperatures than conventional reactors, thus generating electricity more efficiently and without emissions.
TerraPower Isotopes. Medical research and innovation are underway with the TerraPower Isotopes program, focused on separating and processing Thorium-229 into Actinium-225, which may improve cancer treatments by destroying targeted cancer cells with minimum damage to healthy cells.
