15 de abr. de 2016 · Anthony Ashley Cooper was born at Wimborne St. Giles in Dorset, England, on July 22, 1621, the son of Sir John Cooper and Anne Ashley. Both families were of the rising landed gentry. Wimborne St. Giles, his grandfather Ashley’s estate, became his country seat and over the centuries has remained the home of the earls of Shaftesbury.
