Cymone’s lead vocals were overdubbed at some point between late 1984 and Summer 1985, and the song was released on his 3rd solo album: A.C. (1985) Released as a single, The Dance Electric became André’s biggest hit, reaching number 10 on the Billboard Black Singles Chart and number 8 on the Billboard Hot Dance/Disco Chart.
