A Queen is Crowned is a documentary as it should be: informative, objective and proud of the craft. The entire coronation, pageantry and fanfare is documented well, albeit a bit static. Nevertheless you get a great view of one of recent history's greatest moments.

It starts with footage from around the UK and Sir Lawrence Olivier narrating about the splendour of our `sceptred isle' before moving on to the actual coronation itself.

The carriage is also a work of art and demands to be seen. The narration and music are toned down once the service begins. The Queen's voice is actually quite quiet during the parts where she speaks. We also get a glimpse of the great and the good as they were in 1953, their images now preserved on film forever.
