5 de ago. de 2019 · Pada usia tujuh tahun, Basuki Rahmat masuk Sekolah Dasar H.I.S. (Hollands Inlands School) yaitu sekolah dasar khusus untuk para anak ambtenaan (Pegawai Negeri) di Tuban. Pada tahun 1935, saat berusia 14 tahun dan duduk di kelas empat H.I.S, sang ayah meninggal dunia sehingga Basuki terpaksa pindah dan ikut bibinya, Surowinoto ke Bojonegoro.

Basuki Rahmat lahir pada tanggal 4 November 1921 di Kecamatan Senori, Kabupaten Tuban, Keresidenan Rembang. Ayahnya, Raden Soedarsono Soemodihardjo, adalah asisten residen (Wedono) setempat. Ibunya, Soeratni, meninggal pada bulan Januari 1925 ketika Basuki memasuki usia empat tahun, Ketika berusia tujuh tahun, Basuki masuk sekolah dasar.
