16 de mai. de 2024 · Eton College. Eton College is a prestigious independent boarding school in Berkshire, England. It was founded in 1440 by King Henry VI and has educated some of the most influential figures in British history, including Prime Ministers, poets, and scientists.
Há 6 dias · Eton opened their ‘Salute the Soldier Week’ on a novel note, no parade but a dance in the Eton College Memorial Hall by kind permission of the Head Master. Music for dancing was by the College Dance Band with Major H.C. Streatfield in charge of the very thorough organization.
Há 6 dias · The assembly of presumably Eton Porny school children and absence of uniformed boy scouts suggests it predates the Scout movement of 1908 (or 1910, if the formation of the Eton troop is allowed for). The flags, adults and speaker leads one to believe it was an Empire Day Assembly, a national celebration day inaugurated in 1902, May 24th to commemorate the birthday of the late Queen Victoria.

Among items on display were the Gutenberg Bible in College Library, a punishment book from the Archives, colours socks in the Museum of Eton Life, the wall paintings in College Chapel and a four-footed duck in the Natural History Museum.

This type of haircut often involved trimming off a woman's flowing locks in favor of the tapered look sported by men. It included small twists of hair on the sides to resemble sideburns and a slicked-back look in the front and on the crown, also similar to men.
