Cheam is very keen to keep in touch with its alumni and keep you abreast of the latest school news. We produce an annual Alumni Newsletter which you can receive by post or email. Please do register your details in order to receive correspondence, as well as invitations to reunions and events.
Cheam School is a mixed preparatory school located in Headley, in the civil parish of Ashford Hill with Headley in Hampshire. Originally a boys school, Cheam was founded in 1645 by George Aldrich.
Welcome to this year’s edition of the Cheam Alumni Newsletter. I do hope you enjoy reading it and that it leaves you with a great sense of pride. Whether you left in 2022 or 1942, we love hearing from you, and it has been wonderful to meet so many of you over the last year. Keeping Cheam’s history alive is vital to us.
CHEAM SCHOOL: 1645-2020 On 5th July 1947 Cheam celebrated its tercentenary with a gathering at the school, which also served as a farewell for the retiring headmaster, Harold Taylor. 23 de nov. de 2022 · CHEAM ALUMNI NEWSLETTER 2022 As well as showcasing work from every child in the school from Nursery to Year 8, which was framed and hung professionally, there were also live and silent auctions of work donated by alumni, parents and staff in aid of The Cheam Foundation.
Cheam – a name that may be a corruption of two words meaning ‘village by the tree stumps’ – was granted to the cathedral priory of Christchurch, Canterbury in 1018 and a church built soon afterwards was dedicated to a former archbishop, St Dunstan.
The Cheam Foundation aims to keep Cheam close, wherever you are. Whether you left in 2022 or 1942, we love keeping in touch with our alumni. Please join us at events, follow us on social media or come back and visit any time. Cheam will always be your school.
