Biographie de FRANÇOIS MICHEL LOUVOIS LE TELLIER marquis de (1641-1691). Fils du chancelier Michel Le Tellier, Louvois est associé par son père, dès 1662, à la charge de secrétaire d'État à la Guerre dont il a reçu la survivance, charge qu'il exerce pleinement à partir de 1677.
The Marquis de Louvois was appointed superintendent of the Buildings, Arts and Factories of France in 1683. He directed all major building work ordered by the Sun King at Chambord and its surroundings, alongside architect Jules Hardouin-Mansart.
