I think people often say a consensus because of confusion with to reach an agreement. In that case the article is obligatory.

Consensus s'est fait le champion du Recouvrement Amiable de dettes locatives (LOCAPASS..) bien moisies et prescrites depuis des lustres.. Le conseil serait de ne pas se manifester car cela réveille les appétits du recouvreur (La 'Cible' répond..).
Je reçois aujourd'hui, par lettre simple, un avis de mise en demeure émanant de la société Consensus basée à Paris. Après quelques recherches, je me rends compte qu'il s'agit d'un prêt 1% logement, établi il y a 8 ans, lors de la location d'un appartement, et qui avait versé 2 mois de loyer de garantie (4600F à l'époque) directement à mon agence immobilière.

Consensus seems to be that LOD = Level of Detail and HL = High Level but that doesn't seem like good English to me.

5 de dez. de 2006 · I think there is a narrow meaning and a wide meaning. The narrow meaning is words like "umm" "err" "ah" and "uh", that don't express meaning or change meaning. They only prevent someone else from speaking, allowing the speaker to "still have the floor" while finding new words. The term "filler" works for that, I think.

But I would say that the following are correct, or at least commonly used. My favorite animal is the dog. My favorite animal is dogs. Dogs are my favorite animal.
4 de jan. de 2006 · I think the consensus view is clearly that, in BE, the rule holds and it would not be grammatical to break it. This may change, no doubt, but there are no signs that it is (see what other BE contributors have said). It does not sound like it would be correct or common in AE either, for that matter, to say 'equipments' etc.
10 de dez. de 2016 · One expression would be a variation on the other, but there is no consensus as to which one came first, it seems. Some people say 'can't be asked' is a decaf version of 'can't be arsed', but other people say that the latter was made up whereas the former was the original one. 'Can't be arsed' is BE.
