A bumblebee (or bumble bee, bumble-bee, or humble-bee) is any of over 250 species in the genus Bombus, part of Apidae, one of the bee families. This genus is the only extant group in the tribe Bombini, though a few extinct related genera (e.g., Calyptapis) are known from fossils.

- Origem. Há quatro milhões de anos, Optimus Prime liderou um grupo de Autobots, incluindo Bumblebee para entrarem na Arca para fugir de Cybertron, seu planeta natal.
- Um fusca. Após a erupção do Vulcão, Bumblebee se transformou em um fusca amarelo, um carro popular da Terra de 1984. Originalmente, Bumblebee também seria um Fusca 1984 no filme de 2007, mas a produção acabou optando por um Chevrolet Camaro 1976 porque Michael Bay queria evitar comparações com Herbie: Meu Fusquinha Turbinado.
- Espião. Bumblebee é, fisicamente, um dos menores e mais fracos Autobots. No entanto, sua estrutura lhe permite fazer trabalhos que seriam impossíveis para a maioria dos Autobots.
