The Sweet Inspirations (Estelle Brown, Smith, and Shemwell) got back together again in 1994, with new member Portia Griffin. They performed at Elvis Presley tribute shows, and released new material in 2005. Shemwell suffered a stroke in 2001 that has kept her from performing with the group.

Though Cissy Houston left the group after their last Atlantic Recording, the original members Myrna Smith, Estelle Brown & Sylvia Shemwell recorded an excellent album for Stax Records in Memphis in 1973.
Estelle Brown sang with Elvis from 1969 until his untimely passing in 1977. She stood on stage with Elvis for over 1000 performances. The Sweet inspirations had a hit record on the Pop, Soul and R and B charts in 1969. When Elvis heard that sound he just had to have them sing with him.
