The Brigach is the shorter of two streams that jointly form the river Danube in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. The Brigach has its source at 925 m (3,035 ft) above sea level within St. Georgen in the Black Forest.
Die Brigach ist ein 40 Kilometer langer Fluss im Schwarzwald-Baar-Kreis in Baden-Württemberg, der nach einem insgesamt südöstlichen Lauf in Donaueschingen von links mit der längeren und einzugsgebietsreicheren Breg zur Donau zusammenfließt.

The Danube is conventionally taken to be formed by the confluence of the two streams Brigach and Breg just east of Donaueschingen. The source of the Donaubach, which flows into the Danube, in the park of Donaueschingen Palace is often referred to as the source of the Danube (Donauquelle).
The Breg is the longest and biggest headstream of the river Danube. It flows through the southeast part of the Middle Black Forest and the lowlands of the Baar region . The Breg rises at a height of 1,078 m above sea level (NN), six kilometres northwest of Furtwangen.
Quellen der Breg. Die Quelle der Breg befindet sich 6 km nordwestlich von Furtwangen bei der Martinskapelle am Kolmenhof. Die Breg ist wasserreicher und länger als die Brigach, weshalb an der Bregquelle nach geographischen und hydrologischen Kriterien der Hauptstrang des oberen Donausystems beginnt.
