Voice Recordings Have Begun
With the movie's release date still a long ways off, the latest news sees confirmation that voice recordings have begun on Zootopia 2. Shared in a quirky photo on her official Instagram page, Judy Hopps actor Ginnifer Goodwin revealed that she had begun recording vocal tracks for the highly-anticipated sequel.Though Disney has yet to confirm a full cast, Goodwin's post reassures fans that she will once again be voicing the beloved rabbit police officer.
The Sequel Arrives In 2025
Announced amid a slew of other major releases in February 2024, Disney has confirmed that their long-awaited Zootopia sequel will be arriving on November 26th, 2025. Since the first was a certified box office smash, Disney is likely trying to utilize the typical Thanksgiving holiday bump to help bolster its opening numbers. However, this far out, the release date could change in the future.
Ginnifer Goodwin Returns As Judy Hopps
In the first Zootopia, Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde were played by Ginnifer Goodwin (Big Love) and Jason Bateman (Arrested Development), and it's likely they'll both return for the cast of Zootopia 2.
