16 de mai. de 2020 · The Letter Reader is a 30-minute drama that follows a 12-year-old boy who becomes the letter reader in his village, connecting people to their loved ones who have migrated to the city. The film, inspired by former President Thabo Mbeki's childhood, won several awards and features Andile Gumbi and Nomalanga Shabane.
The film tells the story of Siyabonga, a 12-year-old boy from Johannesburg who is sent to a village in Kwazulu-Natal to live with his grandmother while his parents are sorting out their marital problems.
