Saul Aaron Kripke (/ ˈ k r ɪ p k i /; November 13, 1940 – September 15, 2022) was an American analytic philosopher and logician. He was Distinguished Professor of Philosophy at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York and emeritus professor at Princeton University .

Saul Kripke was a member of the Department of Philosophy 1977-1998. The author of Naming and Necessity and Wittgenstein on Rules and Private Language, he is currently Distinguished Professor at CUNY Graduate Center.
