All financial aid at Reed is granted on the basis of demonstrated financial need. Reed offers no academic or athletic scholarships. Need is determined through an assessment of your family’s financial resources and ability to contribute toward the cost of your education.
Connect With Financial Aid. For international students, your level of aid will be the same for all four years at Reed. Given the limited funding available to international students, Reed will not consider changes in family financial circumstances or exchange rate fluctuations in subsequent years.
If you are a prospective international student for whom the cost of the CSS Profile would present a financial hardship, we offer the Reed College International Student Financial Aid Application (ISFAA) as an alternative application.
I needed 100% and they gave it to me through a combo of grants, loans, and work-study (granted I'm an ED applicant and US citizen), and their financial aid policy seems to guarantee 100% of all need for admitted students.
The college offers a loan program designed for international students who qualify for need-based financial aid. These loans are designated for international students receiving Reed grant aid because international students are ineligible to receive any type of federal funding.
Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for school year 2024-25. The FAFSA determines your eligibility for federal student aid (Pell grants, Direct Loans, Federal Work Study, etc.). Reed's school code: 003217. Due to significant changes to the FAFSA, the 2024-25 FAFSA will not be available until sometime in December 2023.
