Harryhausen nasceu em Los Angeles, em 29 de junho de 1920.

  3. Life and career. 1930s and 1940s. After having seen King Kong (1933) on its initial release for the first of many times, Harryhausen spent his early years experimenting in the production of animated shorts, inspired by the burgeoning science fiction literary genre of the period.

  4. Ray duly enrolled on art, anatomy and film-making classes. Harryhausen's concept art and storyboarding, so important to promote and visualise his ideas to producers, is exceptionally powerful.
