  5. Joseph Fielding Smith served as the 10th President of the Church from 1970 until his death in 1972. He was born in 1876 to Julina Lambson Smith and Joseph F. Smith, a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles who later became the 6th President of the Church.
