Chun-Li was a central character in the 1994 Street Fighter film, played by Ming-Na Wen. Chun-Li was given a surname ("Zang Chun-Li") and posed as a television reporter working in Shadaloo in her personal quest to track down and kill Bison, who had murdered her father during a peasant uprising.
Chun-Li was portrayed by Chinese-American Ming-Na Wen (who would later voice one of the Disney Princess characters Mulan in the 1998 Disney animated film of the same name) in the 1994 film.
