" Little Dark Age " is a song by American rock band MGMT. It was released as the lead single from their fourth studio album, Little Dark Age, on October 17, 2017, through Columbia Records.
The album's cover artwork features an illustration by Jim Taber. It originally appeared in 1988 on the front cover of the first issue of Witness to the Bizarre, a literary horror and supernatural zine edited by Melinda Jaeb. The figure featured on the cover has been described as a "a crude rendering of Edvard Munch's The Scream in clown makeup."
The “Little Dark Age” is a depressive stint that one is experiencing. Now that the band has addressed the meaning of the song, there isn’t much ground to stand on other than my own interpretation.
