Melanie Janine Brown MBE (born 29 May 1975), commonly known as Mel B or Melanie B, is an English singer, songwriter, television personality, and actress. She rose to fame in the mid 1990s as a member of the pop girl group the Spice Girls, in which she was nicknamed Scary Spice.

Their three albums sold more than 40 million copies worldwide and they had nine singles at number 1 in the UK. "Hot" was her first solo album, released on 9th October 2000. It entered the UK charts at #28.
