The Mae West Lips Sofa is the centerpiece of an installation at the Dalí Theatre and Museum, Spain. On display at the Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen, Rotterdam, 2017. The Mae West Lips Sofa is a surrealist sculpture in the form of a sofa by Salvador Dalí.
Dali designed a sofa inspired by the lips of actress Mae West, using a photographic portrait and his imagination. The sofa was commissioned by a wealthy patron and became part of the Dali Museum in Figueras.

The Mae West Lips sofa (as it has become known) is one of the most recognisable examples of modern furniture in the world. The making of a sofa was the idea of Surrealist patron, collector, collaborator and poet Edward James, one of the most important figures in the history of Surrealism.
