Details Dan Gurney Eagle Monoshock, Ashtabula forks, bars, neck and cranks. Troxel seat, Araya 20x2.125 rims with heavy gauge spokes. Still has Dan Gurney MX tires.
The model in question that was obtained was a Dan Gurney Monoshock, serial number #1323, named for the shock that was used as part of the suspension. The main problem with the design of the various Monoshock bikes of the era was around the idea of a shock as a member of the frame, working a swing-arm type rear assembly.
His accomplishments as an engineer, car builder, and team owner with his company All American Racers included the "Gurney Flap" spoiler extension, the innovative Alligator motorcycle, and 158 AAR-built Eagle race cars.
