Beacon Academy was the Huntsman Academy of the Kingdom of Vale. The Academy trained teams of Huntsmen and Huntresses to slay the various monsters that plague Remnant. It was overrun following an assault on the Academy led by Cinder Fall in conjunction with Grimm and White Fang.
The series focuses on four girls attending Beacon Academy in the kingdom of Vale: Ruby Rose, Weiss Schnee, Blake Belladonna and Yang Xiao Long. Together, they form Team RWBY ("ruby"). With their friends Jaune Arc, Nora Valkyrie, Pyrrha Nikos and Lie Ren forming their own team, JNPR ("juniper").
