Associazione Sportiva Roma ( Rome Sport Association) is a professional football club based in Rome, Italy. Founded by a merger in 1927, Roma has participated in the top tier of Italian football for all of its existence, except for the 1951–52 season.
The 2015–16 season was Associazione Sportiva Roma's 88th in existence and 87th season in the top flight of Italian football. The team began the season competing in Serie A , the Coppa Italia , and the UEFA Champions League , but were knocked out in the round of 16 in the latter two competitions.
