27 de jul. de 2018 · “The Captain” is based on the real-life story of Willi Herold, who was separated from his regiment during the German army’s retreat back to its home company and, upon assuming the identity of a captain, came upon a prison camp where he ordered the execution of more than 100 inmates.
Based on true events, “The Captain” takes place during the last weeks of World War II and follows the German soldier Willi Herold, who assumes the identity of a captain of the German army by wearing his uniform and uses his newfound authority to orchestrate several war crimes.
