O Achensee (Lago Achen) situa-se nos Alpes do Tirol Austríaco, próximo ao Parque Natural dos Montes Karwendel e à fronteira com a Alemanha. É enorme e navegável inclusive por barcos turísticos. Pena que quando fiz esse passeio passei o maior frio da minha vida !!!!

Formed by mighty glaciers 20,000 years ago, Lake Achensee lies nestled between the Rofan and Karwendel mountains, Tirol's largest nature reserve. The majestic lake is shrouded in myth, and according to legend, it was not formed naturally.
Located between the Karwendel Mountains and the Brandenberg Alps, Lake Achensee is a popular destination for surfers, windsurfers and sailors and is playfully known by locals as the “Sea of Tirol”. There are swimming areas along the shore from the north (Achenkirch) to Perstisau, Schwarzenau, Achenseehof and Seespitz in the south.
