Season 12 of Chicago Fire premiered on January 17, 2024 with the episode Barely Gone and concluded on May 22, 2024 with the episode Never Say Goodbye.
Six months have passed since the events of Season 11, Mouch managed to survive a near fatal event and is back in the action, while Stella and Kelly have reunited. Brett has accepted Casey's proposal, meanwhile, Gallo made the decision to relocate to Detroit with his aunt.

It was confirmed by NBC that due to the SAG-AFTRA strike, the entire One Chicago franchise (Chicago Fire, Chicago PD and Chicago Med) would be delayed to 2024. The number of episodes was also cut down to 13.
