Associazione Sportiva Roma (Rome Sport Association; Italian pronunciation: ) is a professional football club based in Rome, Italy. Founded by a merger in 1927, Roma has participated in the top tier of Italian football for all of its existence, except for the 1951–52 season.

The history of Associazione Sportiva Roma begins with its founding on 7 June 1927 by Italo Foschi, who initiated the merger of three older Italian Football Championship clubs from the city of Rome; Roman, Alba-Audace and Fortitudo.
The 2020–21 season was the 94th season in the existence of A.S. Roma and the 69th consecutive season in the top flight of Italian football. In addition to the domestic league, Roma participated in this season's editions of the Coppa Italia and also participated in the UEFA Europa League.
In 1960-61, Roma tasted their first international success when the club reached the Fairs Cup final, beating first Union St. Gilloise (0-0, 4-1), Colon (2-0, 0-2, 4-1) and then Hibernian (2-2, 3-3, 6-0) on the way. The final saw Roma, led by Luis Carniglia, take on English team, Birmingham City.
