Com o objetivo de suprir essa carência, apresentamos uma versão em português de uma breve escala de religiosidade que se tem mostrado muito útil em outras pesquisas, a Duke Religious Index (DUREL) (Koenig et al ., 1997).
O objetivo deste estudo foi verificar as propriedades psicométricas da versão brasileira do Índice de Religiosidade de Duke (P-DUREL) entre adolescentes. Por meio de uma plataforma on-line, participaram 1.248 adolescentes brasileiros de ambos os sexos, entre 12 e 18 anos ( M = 15,09, DP = 1,77), sendo 57,3% meninas.

Um recente estudo realizado em uma amostra comunitária sugeriu adequada validade para a versão em português brasileiro do índice de Religiosidade de Duke (P-DUREL). Entretanto, as propriedades psicométricas do P-DUREL não foram estudadas em amostras psiquiátricas e/ou de estudantes universitários.

For the sample, means, standard deviations, and reliability coefficients of the DUREL scales are displayed in Table 2. The DUREL Intrinsic scale and DUREL Total scores demonstrated high internal consistency in this setting (coefficient alphas ranging from 0.733 for the total scale to 0.758 for the intrinsic subscale).
Correlations among the DUREL subscales were also examined for evidence of discriminant validity. The different dimensions of religiosity assessed by the instruments were expected to overlap without demonstrating marked redundancy. Correlations were ranging from 0.36 to 0.46 (Table 3), indicating significant overlap among the scales.
Several of the DUREL items or subscale scores were correlated with sociodemographic characteristics. Trata-se da Escala de Religiosidade de Duke. Participaram do estudo 588 estudantes universitários, de 18 a 63 anos (M = 25,01; DP = 12,03), com a prevalência de mulheres (81%), a maioria (58%) tem uma renda econômica familiar entre 1 e 3 salários mínimos. A amostra foi dividida em dois grupos:
