Primary. Secondary. Sources. Legolas (pronounced [ˈlɛɡɔlas]) is a fictional character in J. R. R. Tolkien 's The Lord of the Rings. He is a Sindar Elf of the Woodland Realm and son of its king, Thranduil, becoming one of the nine members of the Fellowship who set out to destroy the One Ring.

However, this character had no further development in the Legendarium and is unrelated to the Legolas of the Fellowship of the Ring.
