Após a rejeição das profecias da Ellen G. White de alguns membros da Igreja Adventista do Sétimo Dia no Paraná, fundaram uma igreja com o nome "Evangélicos Adventistas do Sétimo Dia" em 1913. Por alinharem-se às doutrinas batistas, adotaram em 1950 o nome de Igreja Batista do Sétimo Dia no Brasil.
