Sulzbach-Rosenberg ist eine Stadt im Oberpfälzer Landkreis Amberg-Sulzbach, etwa 50 km östlich von Nürnberg. Die Stadt entstand am 1. Juli 1934 durch die Zusammenlegung der Stadt Sulzbach mit der Gemeinde Rosenberg. [3] . Sie war bis zum 30. Juni 1972 die Kreisstadt des gleichnamigen Landkreises.
