Rosenborg Ballklub is a football club from Trondheim, Norway. It was established in 1917 as Odd by 12 boys, and played local friendlies, became it was not permitted to join the Football Association of Norway (NFF). After permission was granted, it took the current name and joined the league system in 1928.

A gang of lads from Rosenborg a suburb of Trondheim, decided to start a football team. The name they chose was Odd, taking it from the best team in Norway at the time.
