Procter Ralph Hug, Jr. was a federal judge with the United States Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit. He joined the court in 1977 after being nominated by President Jimmy Carter. From 1996 to 2000, Judge Hug served as chief judge for the Ninth Circuit. He assumed senior status on January 1, 2002.
