A non-profit hospital, or not-for-profit hospital, is a hospital which is organized as a non-profit corporation. Based on their charitable purpose and most often affiliated with a religious denomination they are a traditional means of delivering medical care in the United States.
Brazil. The Brazilian health system is a mix composed of public hospitals, non-profit philanthropic hospitals, and private hospitals. The majority of the low- and medium-income population uses services provided by public hospitals run by either the state or the municipality.
24 de jun. de 2021 · In Table 1, we compared the levels of community benefits in certain categories between non-for-profit and for-profit hospitals. Across all 17 types of CB, non-profit hospitals spent on average $23.0 million annually on community benefits compared with only $2.6 million in for-profit hospitals.
