Michael Mosoeu Moerane (20 September 1904 – 27 January 1980) was a choral music composer and the first black South African to write a symphonic poem, in 1941.
Michael Mosoeu Moerane. Michael Mosoeu Moerane (* 1909 in Mangoloaneng, Kapkolonie; † 1981, nach anderen Angaben 1904–1980) war ein südafrikanischer Komponist und Chorleiter. Moeranes Vater stammte aus Basutoland, dem heutigen Lesotho. Moerane wurde am Lovedale Institute und an der Universität Fort Hare ausgebildet.

Michael Mosoeu Moerane was born on 20 September 1904 in Mangoloaneng, a village in the Matatiele/Mount Fletcher district of the Eastern Cape, located in the larger region known as East Griqualand, or Transkei. He was one of seven children born to Eleazar Jacane and Sophia Moerane.

23 de ago. de 2012 · He died in Gumtree in. Michael Mosoeu Moerane, composer, teacher, pianist and conductor, is born in Mangoanaleng, Matatiele, Eastern Cape. He died in Bloemfontein in January, 1980. His siblings included Manasseh Tebatso Moerane and Epainette Mbeki, and he was uncle to Thabo Mbeki and Marumo Moerane.
