Jamaican English, including Jamaican Standard English, is a variety of English native to Jamaica and is the official language of the country. A distinction exists between Jamaican English and Jamaican Patois (a creole language), though not entirely a sharp distinction so much as a gradual continuum between two extremes.

Inglês jamaicano ou inglês padrão jamaicano (Jamaican English ou Jamaican Standard English) é um dialeto do inglês falado na Jamaica. Embora a variante apresente características tanto do inglês americano quanto do inglês britânico, tipicamente utiliza grafias do dialeto britânico, rejeitando as formas americanas. [1]
British Jamaicans (or Jamaican British people) are British people who were born in Jamaica or who are of Jamaican descent. The community is well into its third generation and consists of around 300,000 individuals, the second-largest Jamaican population, behind the United States, living outside of Jamaica.
Jamaicans are the citizens of Jamaica and their descendants in the Jamaican diaspora. The vast majority of Jamaicans are of Sub-Saharan African descent, with minorities of Europeans, Indians, Chinese, Middle Eastern, and others of mixed ancestry.
