Inès de Bourgoing naît à Paris, le 5 janvier. Son père, le baron Philippe de Bourgoing (1827-1882), d’une vieille famille du Nivernais, fut, comme officier, le grand écuyer de Napoléon III avant de devenir Inspecteur du Service des Haras. Il sera élu cinq fois député de la Nièvre.
