Eventing (also known as three-day eventing or horse trials) is an equestrian event where a single horse and rider combine and compete against other competitors across the three disciplines of dressage, cross-country, and show jumping.
Eventing is often referred to as the Equestrian version of triathlon because of its three differing phases - Dressage, Jumping and Cross Country. From its fox hunting beginnings in the 19 th century, to military dominance in the 20 th, the sport changed immeasurably in the 21 st century.
