Yvonne Ridley (born 23 April 1958) is a British journalist, author and politician who holds several committee positions with the Alba Party [citation needed] in Scotland. She was a former chair of the National Council of the now-defunct Respect Party.
Yvonne Ridley is a former Fleet Street reporter who was captured by the Taliban in 2001 and became a Muslim. She has written books on Islam, Palestine and Gaza, and received a Nobel Peace Prize nomination for her work.
