21 de fev. de 2023 · Léonie d´Aunet was the first woman in history to visit the Svalbard archipelago. In 1839, it was portrayed as a visit to the North Pole. Although Svalbard is 1,000 kilometres away, the polar ice rim at the time touched the islands and drift ice filled its bays and fjords.
Léonie Thévenot d’Aunet est une romancière, nouvelliste, dramaturge et exploratrice française. Après de bonnes études, elle rencontre le peintre Auguste Biard. Il a 20 ans de plus qu’elle et devient son amant en 1838.
