Thomas Hughes QC (20 October 1822 – 22 March 1896) was an English lawyer, judge, politician and author. He is most famous for his novel Tom Brown's School Days (1857), a semi-autobiographical work set at Rugby School, which Hughes had attended.

16 de mai. de 2017 · Thomas Hughes nasceu em 1947, em Dublin, Irlanda. Em 1964 entrou na Congregação dos Missionários do Verbo Divino – SVD. Foi ordenado presbítero em 1970 e já em 1971 chegou no Brasil.
Thomas Hughes was a lawyer, reformer, and novelist who wrote Tom Brown's School Days and other works influenced by Christian Socialism. He also served in Parliament, founded a cooperative colony in Tennessee, and corresponded with James Russell Lowell.
